You vote: Splittling the weekend games between Thomas, Rask

Decisions, decisions
When you have one goaltender coming off a Calder Trophy-worthy campaign who’s starting to shake off the sophomore slump, and one that’s working on a Vezina campaign, it’s tough to pick a starter from game to game.
Undoubtedly, head coach Claude Julien and his staff are bouncing different scenarios off each other throughout this three-day span of rest in preparation for big road games against Vancouver (Saturday) and Edmonton (Sunday) this weekend.
You could make an argument for any of three approaches to this weekend in terms of goaltending. So I ask you, my readers:
How should the Bruins assign their goaltender starts over the weekend against Vancouver and Edmonton?
- Thomas one game, Tuukka Rask one game (92%, 230 Votes)
- Rask both games (4%, 10 Votes)
- Tim Thomas both games (4%, 9 Votes)

Thomas will start against Vancouver, and depending on his performance will depend on Julien’s decision. We have seen before where Julien will go with a repeat if someone has a hot hand, or if someone is coming off a shut out. For the sake of the team, I hope one of these guys plays both games, cause that likely means that we beat the Canucks.
play them both put thomas on d
Alright I’ll jump on no change here Thomas-Nucks, Rask-Oilers and Rask-Sens copy cat.
Timmy – Nucks
2U’s – Oil, Sens
i agree with adam. alternate them here on out. rask would get nucks and sens (again). timmah gets oils and espos.

The B’s are going to need Timmy for the Nucks… there will be plenty of shots that will require acrobatic saves and unorthodox positioning, which we know are Timmy’s style. That being said, it’s very clear that when the D doesn’t show up to get rebounds away from the crease, Timmy becomes pretty vulnerable. Vancouver loves to create traffic out front, especially with their top unit out; Christian Ehrhoff is often the 5-on-5 quarterback, and a lot of the offense runs through his point shot, or him feeding down to Daniel on the wing to start the cycle. Both of those options pose trouble for the B’s when they have a crowded crease.
The Nucks’ D is ailing though, I think they’ve had injuries to six guys throughout the year, with Sami Salo still shaking off rust, Bieksa out, Hamuis on the mend from a concussion, and Alex Edler having the back of an 80 year old woman. So if the B’s can use the transition game to their advantage (like they did :56 seconds in against Calgary) and keep the opposing D on its heels, then they could perhaps jump out to an early lead.
As for Tuuk, I think he should get the starts in both EDM and OTT. My reasoning here is that he needs to keep his groove and his confidence, both of which are going to be crucial down the stretch. Also, the next three games after that are vs Tampa, Pittsurgh, and Les Habs… my guess is that Timmy will be in for all three, if not at least for TBL and MTL.
Screw it. I say let Rask face Vancouver. If he can pull out a win, think what that’ll do to his confidence. Plus Edmonton might be a good game for Timmy to possibly pad his stats.
Not exactly sure why you would start rask both games: even though he has been capable, have the Canucks ever scored on Thomas? But why give TT back to back starts when you can send in a goalie in the second game whom the oilers have never scored against?
This appears to be a no brainer but Julien has fooled me before.

easy decision. Thomas against Vancouver Rask against Edmonton. Gotta start workin Tukka in more keep Timmy fresh going into the playoffs. If we cant beat Edmonton with Tukka in net we have a bigger set of issues than just who should be starting
Yeah clearly, You want to see how timmy measures against Lou and than give him the break and let Tukka take care of the Oil, they don’t need tim to beat the oil so why risk him getting tire or hurt.
Clearly Thomas Saturday, Rask Sunday.
