Kaberle/By S. Bradley
After a mostly uneventful trade-deadline day, Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli again addressed the status of contract talks with recently acquired defenseman Tomas Kaberle today.
A Tweet from a prominent national hockey writer earlier today claimed the Bruins planned to talk to Kaberle’s representation before the end of this season about an extension. But Chiarelli today reiterated what he said upon acquiring Kaberle, a potential unrestricted free agent this summer, that those talks will wait until the season is over.
“We both agreed to wait until the season is over,” Chiarelli told the assembled media in Ottawa. “Which was in a very positive light, so I’m very optimistic.”

win the cup. acquire currency.
Agreed. Best approach.
Kaberle doesn’t seem a primadonna.. if he were, he would have been fighting his way out of Toronto which he wasn’t. Boston is a desireable spot for him.. I think we’ll see reasonable negotiations.
I like that this won’t be made into a distraction. If Kaberle sets too high a price by being instrumental in winning the cup than I’ll be just thrilled to watch him walk.
