If you were searching for a movie-style title for this Bruins season thus far, one you might consider would be “Lucic Unleashed.”

Fully healthy this season after an awful injury-plagued 2009-10 campaign, Bruins winger Milan Lucic is maturing into the all-around outstanding power forward Boston envisioned he’d be when he was rewarded with a multi-year, multi-million contract extension last fall.

Last week, Lucic posted 3-3-6 totals and a plus-6 rating. His six points ran his season’s point total to 46, which is four better than his previous career high with 20 games still left in the season. For his efforts, Lucic was voted the Bruin of the Week by readers of

Lucic continues to lead the Bruins in goals scored with 27. But just as important, he’s a plus-22. And, as usual, he has come through in some of the bigger games of the season, including his game-winning goal Saturday night in Vancouver. Lucic left his hometown with one of Boston’s sweetest two points, after the Bruins defeated the No. 1 team in the entire NHL.

There are several candidates for Bruins MVP and Seventh Player this season. Lucic has to be part of both conversations.
