Isn’t Thomas’ contract subject to the +35 rules? I’m not sure its possible to avoid his cap by demoting him. Its trade, injury or your stuck with it. Not that I’d be complaining about being “stuck” with a Vezina calibre goaltender at a market rate.
Rask isn’t even a starting goalie at the moment. Maybe we should give this new kid a look at give Mr. Rask a little something to think about.
