BOSTON — Rookie defenseman Steven Kampfer scored the game-tying goal tonight 6:06 into the second period.

Almost two minutes later, he got clocked by Tampa Bay forward Mattias Ritola in the corner of his own end on a breakout pass.

Kampfer skated a couple more shifts in that period but didn’t return for the third stanza of Boston’s 2-1 win over Tampa Bay at TD Garden.

“He got his bell rung. And the doctors wanted to be cautious and kept him off,” explained Bruins head coach Claude Julien. “He’ll be re-evaluated tomorrow and we’ll see how he feels.”

Kampfer finished the night with 9:36 of ice time logged. The Bruins were already down to six available defensemen because of a lower-body injury to veteran Andrew Ference.
