Final score: Bruins 2, Tampa Bay 1

Lucic wins it/By S. Bradley

BOSTON — There was a chance that the Bruins could’ve left their desperation on their perfect six-game road trip.

With two drives to the net and then a flick of Milan Lucic’s wrist, the Bruins proved that they could carry over their electric play from the road to home ice in their 2-1 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning tonight at TD Garden.

The Bruins have now won seven in a row.

Lucic scored the game-winner from an odd angle with 3:42 remaining in regulation with Nathan Horton and David Krejci, plus a bunch of Tampa Bay defenders, down in front of the goal after a mad scramble at the top of the crease.

The goal capped a physical night that featured 44 recorded hits and a lopsided fight between Lucic and Lightning defenseman Eric Brewer.

Boston now has sole possession of second place in the Eastern Conference.

Here’s a look at the rest of the box score:

•Steven Kampfer scored his fifth goal of the season. He had gone six games without a point.

•After two games as the back-up to Tuukka Rask, goaltender Tim Thomas returned to action with a 27-save performance.

•In his Boston home debut, Tomas Kaberle was a plus-1 with four blocked shots in 21:32 of ice time.
