BOSTON — The winning streak ended but the points streak continued.
Dustin Jeffrey’s second goal of the night just 1:52 into overtime lifted Pittsburgh to a 3-2 win at TD Garden and ended the Bruins’ seven-game winning streak.
Boston is now 7-0-1 in its last eight.
Dennis Seidenberg’s giveaway at the Boston blue line allowed Jeffrey to bust out of the neutral zone with speed and drive to the net, where he flipped in a forehand shot.
David Krejci salvaged the point for Boston with a goal that tied the score at 2 with just 32.5 left on the clock and Tim Thomas off the ice for the extra attacker. It was the Bruins’ first extra-attacker goal of the season.
Here’s a glance at the rest of the box score:
•With Tuukka Rask the only goaltender taking the morning skate, it was a bit of a surprise to see Tim Thomas get a second straight start. Thomas finished the night with 33 saves on 36 shots.
•Zdeno Chara snapped 19-game goal-less drought with his 11th of the season, which put the Bruins on the scoreboard first.
•Seidenberg finished the night with seven hits and four blocked shots, so the game-losing turnover ruined an overall solid performance by the veteran blueliner.
