The way the Bruins’ top line has played of late, you could make an argument for any of the three forwards as the Bruin of the Week every week.

Two weeks ago, readers of TheBruinsBlog.net voted Milan Lucic the honor. This week, it was Nathan Horton’s turn.

The power forward has combined with Lucic and center David Krejci to make the Bruins’ offense more potent and the team as a whole more successful, as Boston has climbed into second place in the Eastern Conference.

Last week, Horton scored the lone goal in the win at Ottawa and helped set up Lucic’s game-winner game against Tampa Bay. With the game on the line against Pittsburgh Saturday, Horton recorded the primary assist on Krejci’s game-tying goal in the final minute of regulation that salvaged a point for the Bruins.

For the season, Horton (the team leader among forwards at plus-25) is now third on the team with 18 goals. He’s not on the pace to score 30 goals like he once was early in the season, but he’s become the type of threat the Bruins need to keep defenses occupied and goaltenders worried. He’s even recorded as many fighting majors — five — as the more experienced pugilist Lucic.

After a rough middle of the season, Horton is turning his first legitimate NHL playoff push into a stretch to remember.
