An educated case for tonight’s Bruins game in Montreal would be that Tim Thomas will get the start in goal.

Typically, we know after morning skate the identity of that night’s starter by witnessing which goaltender leaves the ice first. This morning in Montreal, however, Tuukka Rask left the ice early after taking a shot up high during the practice.

If Thomas gets the start, it will be his third straight after Rask had started two in a row. This season against the Habs, Thomas is 1-1-1 with a .888 save percentage and 4.28 goals-against average — numbers far different than his overall season’s totals of .939 and 1.97.
