White wails on Boychuk early in Bruins-Habs showdown

Boychuk
This one might be a little rough for Bruins backers to watch again, but at least its gives you an even better idea of Johnny Boychuk’s toughness.
Early in tonight’s Bruins game in Montreal, Boychuk missed an open-ice hit on P.K. Subban. Ryan White took exception at the attempt and immediately challenged Boychuk. White definitely came out way ahead on points in this bout, but Boychuk at least hung in there.
Needless to say, White’s victory set the tone for tonight’s game.
You’ll slapshot in my face? I’m not sure the intent of the comments section is to threaten harm on one another, here. I’m trying to talk hockey, apparently I’ve won the argument if you’re already resorting to empty threats.
Cheers.
Yea perfect becz Mcaid is a bruins that trying to beat smaller guy if ill e AK46 trust me ill slap shot in ur face on after one
I know its not good for the kids to see that but u think Boston show the best exemple?
Bergeron and Juilen became stupid boston Bergeron defending Zdeno he should remember when he got it him also it would have been different if he was other place on the rink

Where is glove is?tell me he don know what he did or was an accident
From the knuckle-dragging savage: It was wonderful to see the class the Montreal fans embrace as they erupted in cheer as Adam McQuaid fell to the ice after taking a slap shot off the shin. Louder than the cheers for 2 of the 4 goals scored.
The middle fingers extended throughout the Bell Centre during Chara’s departure down the tunnel were a nice touch, too. Great for the fans watching at home with their children.
Yea Boston are know for cheap shot they should be ashamed there guy try to fight whit PK and other smaller player but when mara moen on the ice i dont see them anymore…U can continu playin like this the season almot over,we would have the next won so 7/8 won over boston
Chara and other player is not that much dirty!
The dirty side is playing dity whit smaller pllayer, they choice they opponent and trying to fight whit smaller player ,Fighting whit elbow protector, once the guy is down or whit parts of the ice.Keep talking Julien&Marchand u are the team that talk/Dive and start the war but at the end we have the victory
PK
You can keep your “dirty” hockey you knuckle dragging savage.
Max Pacioretty has a C4 fracture because of this hit.
Bonjour, James. I’m all about respecting everyone’s opinion, but c’mon. Goons? That’s just silly. Their leaders in PIM should all finish the season with 10+ goals. PJ Stock was a goon. Georges LaRoque was a goon. Brashear, Gillies, Parros. All goons. Johnny Boychuk? Not a goon.
And to post that comment to an article about fighting communicates to me that you equate dirty play with fighting. Anyone who claims to appreciate “the glory days of Ray Bourque and Bobby Orr” will agree: fighting and dirty are not one and the same.
Not sure how many other players you recall from those eras, while conveniently mentioning Orr and Borque, but the “Big, Bad” part of the nickname wouldn’t've stuck for 70 years if not for the same “dirty” style you reference here.
If Shore, Green, Sanderson, O’Reilly, Neely and Chara play dirty hockey, then give me dirty hockey. And you can keep supporting for the Greg Lougains-emulating Habs.
Au revoir.
Habs fan here. White’s a tough kid for his age. It was a good fight (Johnny has nothing to be embarrassed about) and set the tone to make sure nobody tries any cheap crap later in the game…too bad it didn’t work.
Johnny didn’t get free because maybe he was gassed too???
im disgusted at the bruins dirty play of late, they lack class on the ice and have been conjuring up a reputatation as the “goons” on the ice. Im very saddened to see this lack of respect from the glory days of Ray Bourque and Bobby Orr.
White definitely with the win, however he was gassed and holding on at the end, if johnny got free it might have been a different story.
