BOSTON — Buffalo head coach Lindy Ruff confirmed this morning that forward Jochen Hecht will not be available tonight against the Bruins.
Hecht missed the previous three Sabres games with an upper-body injury.
In five games against Boston this season, Hecht has recorded just two assists.
Thomas Vanek and Mike Grier, who did not play in Buffalo’s last game Tuesday against Pittsburgh, are scheduled to return to the lineup tonight at TD Garden. Patrick Kaleta remains out.
Unfortunately for the Bruins Jason Pominville and Drew Stafford are also scheduled to be in the lineup for Buffalo. This season, Pominville has 3-5-8 totals in five games against Boston, and Stafford has seven goals in just three games against the Bruins.
The puck-drop is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Seguin killing penalties….that is a head scratcher…
I like George’s lineup, but I would switch Ryder and Seguin. When (emphasis on when) Ryder plays hard he is a top 6 forward, Seguin will be there someday, but for now he should play on the third line with Recchi showing him the ropes.
RuggedRyan311 { 03.10.11 at 1:37 pm } I suspect Gaustad and Kaleta will take advantage of this current controversy and raelly take it to Z tonight.
I agree…Kaleta is one of those guys who loves to get under players skin, and he will certainly chirp at Chara tonight.

Most important thing is for the Bruins to get their focus back and come out of this game with two points.
And for the love of GOD, please keep Stafford off the scoresheet.
I would love to see
Lucic – Krejci – Horton
Marchand – Bergeron – Seguin
Recchi – Peverly – Ryder
Kelly – Campbell – Thornton
If I had the power:
Lucic – Krejci – Horton
Marchand – Peverley – Bergeron
Recchi – Seguin – Ryder
Kelly – Campbell – Thornton
RF,
Seguin has not been on any PP units for practice. In fact, he has been killing penalties during drills.
MK
Matt,
Has Seguin seen anytime at practice on the second PP unit? With the amount of struggles they have had and the obvious sniper ability of Seguin it seems like Claude should take the training wheels off…..
I suspect Gaustad and Kaleta will take advantage of this current controversy and raelly take it to Z tonight.
George, no lines this AM because of an optional skate. I’d suspect the lines from yesterday’s practice will start tonight.
MK
Matt, any word on the lines tonight? I think you posted before that Recchi might be moved to the 3rd. Even with the great road trip I still felt the lines could use a shakeup because the first line has had to carry the offense for a while, which is funny because most of the season it was the other way around. Maybe Reunite the merlot line to get Marchand back into form.
I actually am starting to get worried about a team like Buffalo. They are getting hot at the right time and have had the Bruins number all year long. Add into the mix Brad Boyes and they have a pretty potent offensive when it is clicking. With Ryan Miller in net, this very well could be an upset minded team that I dont want to see the Bs match up with in the 1st round
Oh wow…theres a game tonight???
