Final score: NY Islanders 4, Bruins 2

Hillen

The two-goal lead has now gone from a sure thing to kryptonite when it comes to the Bruins.

For the second straight night, Boston jumped out to a 2-0 lead on a team far behind them in the standings only to leave the rink in defeat.

Tonight it was the New York Islanders that rallied past the Bruins for a 4-2 win, one night after the Sabres zapped the Bruins, 4-3, in overtime.

The Bruins are now win-less (0-2-2) in their last four outings on the heels of their seven-game winning streak.

Here’s a glance at the box score:

•Jack Hillen scored what proved to be the game-winner with a blast from the right point that deflected off Bruins defenseman Dennis Seidenberg with 5:58 elapsed in the third period. Matt Moulson, Michael Grabner and P.A. Parenteau scored the Isles other goals.

•Nathan Horton and Zdeno Chara scored the Bruins’ goals.

•After taking a dumb penalty late in the second period, which led to  the Isles’ first goal just before the second intermission, Brad Marchand officially skated just one more shift. He finished the night with 13 shifts and 9:52 of ice time.

•Chara’s goal came on a 5-on-3 power play to end the Bruins’ streak of games without a power-play goal at eight.
