While the Bruins were on Long Island yesterday, defensemen Andrew Ference and Steven Kampfer stayed back in Boston to continue their recovery from injury.
After the Bruins’ 4-2 loss to the New York Islanders last night, head coach Claude Julien updated the status of his two blueliners. Ference, out since he suffered a lower-body injury Feb. 26, skated again yesterday and could be back with the team for practice as early as Sunday.
Kampfer, who suffered a mild concussion March 3, rode the bike and felt fine one day after he was shut down because of headaches stemming from a bike ride a day earlier.
The Bruins will not practice today.
