BOSTON — Bruins winger Brad Marchand took the warm-up tonight with fourth-liners Gregory Campbell and Shawn Thornton.
Marchand will play his first game since the end of his two-game suspension tonight against New Jersey at TD Garden.
With Marchand back on the line he spent the bulk of the season’s first couple months skating on, Michael Ryder stayed with Patrice Bergeron and Mark Recchi. The other two lines stayed the same with David Krejci between Milan Lucic and Nathan Horton, and Chris Kelly centering Rich Peverley and Tyler Seguin. Daniel Paille, who didn’t even take the warm-up, will be the healthy scratch.
The D pairs stayed the same as Saturday night: Zdeno Chara and Johnny Boychuk, Tomas Kaberle and Dennis Seidenberg, and Andrew Ference and Adam McQuaid.

OMG did I just see Kelly on the PP…
My guess is this is a way to further drive home the message to not do anything stupid for Marchand. I just don’t think there’s a home for Glyder on any line. Seguin has taken his place effectively as a defensive liability on the 3rd line, and Ryder is in limbo, so the coach stuck him where his defensive ineptitude is likely to cost us little to nothing. That, and he probably knows he and Paille trade places if he plays like they’re in Toronto again.
Gulp… let’s see how this goes. No clue how Ryder gets an upgrade and Marchy gets a downgrade, but whatever.
