Development camp invitee Cantin earns entry-level deal with Bruins

It continues to pay off to attend Bruins development camp, even if you’re not a highly touted draft pick.

Defenseman Marc Cantin became the latest development camp invitee to earn a deal with Boston, as the club signed the former Mississauga St. Michael’s Majors 20-year-old to an entry-level deal today.

Cantin previously skated for the Windsor Spitfires, with whom he won the Memorial Cup alongside Taylor Hall and competed against Tyler Seguin in 2010. At 6-foot-1, 201 pounds the Bruins like his size and his ability to produce points. He recorded 41 (10 goals) last season. Mississauga opens its playoff series with Belleville Thursday.

Ryan Donald was another development camp invitee last summer that earned a deal, albeit with the Providence (AHL) farm club, and he has played for both the P-Bruins and Reading (ECHL) this season.

This is just another bonus the Bruins get from organizing their development camp every summer in addition to the head start it gives some of the potential future stars.
