The news came down from Providence (AHL) head coach Rob Murray that defenseman Boris Valabik is going to miss the rest of this season with an injury.
Good thing the P-Bruins continued to import young defensemen today.
Last week, the Bruins’ farm club brought in David Warsofsky out of Boston University. Today the P-Bruins inked Ryan Button, who was a third-round pick of Boston back in 2009. In his fourth season of junior hockey in the WHL, Button skated in 69 games and posted 5-30-35 totals.
While Providence’s playoff hopes are all but mathematically done, at least some of the Bruins’ prospects will get a taste of pro hockey long before returning for training camp next fall.
