Bruins’ Chara knows the score when it comes to the Norris

chara has to be the worst nightmare for any player trying to get a good shot on net.

Amen, MCK. The individual trophies are already won midway through the season anyway, as the writers really gas certain players up and make it obvious. Chara deserves the Norris, but it’ll go to either one of the many glorified forwards playing defesne, or Nick Lidstrom.

I realize that Toews may have been a little gassed from the Monday game (but he is a professional and should know how to pull back to back road games by now too), but Chara totally shut that boy down and I for one think Toews is among the best centers in the game. He had Chara in his space all night long and when Chara shuts guys like that down you really appreciate the man’s game.

I think Bruins fans are often hard on the man, and he isn’t perfect, but when his game is on the other team’s forwards can’t do anything but spin their heads in frustration.

I don’t think Chara will get the Norris though-I think the whole Pacioretty thing this year probably will influence why as much as some other defenseman being leaps and bounds better.

I wish Bruins fans appreciated him more and I certainly hope they start to really consider him for the Norris.

With an award that is subjective the best many does not always win, but anyone that watches Chara night in and night out knows how valuable he is to this team.
