Chara absent from practice

Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara didn’t practice today at TD Garden with the rest of his teammates.

The entire squad minus its captain, however, took the ice for around an hour. Chara missed portions of last night’s game with an undisclosed ailment that head coach Claude Julien declared a non-issue after the game.

Boston obviously has to take every precaution to keep Chara healthy — even if that means him missing a game — with the playoffs less than two weeks away.
