Video: Lucic punches way toward top of power-forward rankings
Toronto’s Jay Rosehill knows now that although Milan Lucic is a 30-goal, 30-assist man, the Bruins winger is no pushover in the physicality department.
The fight between Rosehill and Lucic last night in Toronto’s 4-3 shootout win at TD Garden was so great, it included two rounds, and is worth another look:
Earlier in the game, Lucic had entered an exclusive club with his offensive hands rather than his fists. His assist on David Krejci’s goal was his 30th of the year. Lucic became just the 10th player since the lockout with 30 goals, 30 assists and 100 PIM. He’s come a long way since early in the season when his scoring numbers were on fire but his penalty minutes didn’t look like they’d reach 100.
Before we all get carried away about potential 40- and 50-goal seasons in Lucic’s future, let’s just savor his breakout offensive year and hope that his rugged style doesn’t cause more extended injury absences like the one that kept him sidelined most of last season. If Lucic lands in the 30, 35-goal range and continues to keep some goons honest with his fists and bodychecks, the Bruins can take that for the length of his contract and beyond.

That was a pretty nifty skate-to stick-to Krecji at the goal mouth move last night.
His talent is blooming before us.
Gotta love
Loochh
I sure am glad they don’t have shootouts in the playoffs, guys just skating in a letting wrist shots off isn’t exactly working. Other then Seguin’s winner a few games ago havn’t seen much creativity there.
Paille tried hard, but didn’t fit. I wish he had put Seguin out there-I often wonder what Krejci could do with Seguin on his wing but the KHL line works great together and I love how they pass to whoever has the open shot-and tap that puck right through the defense.
I am keeping my fingers crossed the this Horton stays around through the play offs, because with Horton hot that line is dangerous and unselfish.
Has anyone seen the video of Looch boxing on youtube, beating the bag out of kid who looks about 50 pounds lighther then him? It was great to see him revert to the sweet science stance last night.
i love when the khl line goes on the rush. looch did a good job this year pacing his fights. he’s too productive to be sitting in the box. did you see claude put paille in his place during the 5 min fm? not the same line.
when him and Horton get mad on the ice, its a dangerous combo
I love his style of play. I also think Lucic plays better when he plays on that physical edge. It is almost like the occasional fight raises his game up a notch.
Besides giving birth. Is there anything this guy can’t do?
Hell if he settles in around 25G’s a season he’s earning his keep. Anything more is gravy as long as he’s being physical.
