Julien not tipping his hand about Bruins’ potential playoff lineup
WILMINGTON, Mass. — Decisions, decisions.
Bruins head coach has a couple of them with two games of the regular season left before the playoffs start next week.
So Boston’s home date with Ottawa Saturday and visit to New Jersey Sunday could be a final evaluation and/or a chance to get someone like Shane Hnidy some more playing time before it’s too late.
Today after his team went through its last full regular-season practice, Julien wouldn’t let on about any of his decisions that are coming up.
“We’re going to have two or three extra players guys, so I guess when the time comes we’ll make those decisions,” he said. “Even if I had or we had made our decisions, I don’t think I’d be here speaking about it. We’ve got a couple games left here to play and we’re going to go out there and play them. I think a lot of things will depend also on what’s going to happen here tonight with certain teams that are playing tonight and see where we stand after tonight. Like I said, it’s a day-to-day process here on decision-making. At this stage of the year, it’s not just the coach but the organization trying to decide what direction they want to take with these two games.”
I 2nd the motion
Sit Recchi (the old buzzard’ s making a last run and will be called on for some heavy lifting – give him seat for the next two) and play both Seguin and Ryder equal amounts on the second and third lines. Give Seguin some more PP time to see what he brings.
I wouldn’t sit Chara however, but I’d cut his time. I think one area we still need to work on is the PP. I think Seids needs to rest, however.
I don’t want to even see Timma with skates on his feet these next two.
