The Bruins went through a couple injury scares with Johnny Boychuk and Tyler Seguin but seemingly escaped New Jersey unscathed today.

And that’s all that mattered after they dropped a 3-2 decision to the Devils in a regular-season finale with absolutely no meaning.

Boychuk was tripped up into the boards on a rush by Anssi Salmela in the second period. He sort of limped back to the bench but then didn’t miss a shift.

Later in the second period, Salmela inadvertently head-butted Seguin in the face in pursuit of the puck at center ice. Seguin went to the dressing room early and then returned for the third period.

Here’s a glance at the box score:

•Rich Peverley might be heating up at just the right time, as he scored his second goal in as many games. His linemate and fellow February import Chris Kelly also scored — albeit with just four seconds left in the game and on a tip-in. It was Kelly’s second goal with the Bruins.

•Tuukka Rask looked mostly sharp with 29 saves on 32 shots in what the Bruins have to hope was his last game of the season.

•The Bruins were credited with just six hits. They didn’t get credit for one for when their butts hit the bus to the airport as quick as possible after a meaningless trip to New Jersey.
