Julien: Seguin sits for Bruins’ Game 1 vs. Canadiens
BOSTON — It was no secret Tyler Seguin was the odds-on favorite to be a healthy scratch for the start of the playoffs in the weeks leading up to the postseason.
Today after his team’s morning skate at TD Garden in preparation for Game 1 of an Eastern Conference quarterfinal series against Montreal, head coach Claude Julien put an end to all the educated speculation. He was asked the logic behind sitting Seguin:
“There’s no logic here, I think it’s just we’ve got 20 guys in our line-up tonight that we feel is the line-up we want to go with.”
So there you go.

Can I just say, that I love this Blog site and those that come here to contribute. There is so much nonsense and hyper-sensitivity out there related to this kid. Its refreshing to read through opinions of sensible hockey fans.
Wooohoo. Go Bs! Long time since ’72 (I had just learned to skate backwards at that point, and had absolutely no idea how special those days were!)
its the right call. he’s not ready physically for playoff hockey.
Something tells me he’ll score a big goal somewhere in this tourney.
when the bruins are up two games or three then put his in still get the experience and less gamble
He’ll get his shot. Just needs to stay ready and keep the right frame of mind so he’s ready to go when he’s called on.
Just being in the locker room during hte playoffs is going to help this kid immensely.
As much as I’d like to see him gain some playoff experience, we have to take the chance that Ryder finds his playoff form. If that 3rd line can produce, this series won’t last long.
Putting Seguin in over Paille, on the 4th line, would just be a waste too. Let him watch and if Ryder slips or someone gets hurt, having Seguin as our 13th forward ain’t too shabby.
