Ill Chara will travel with Bruins to Montreal for Game 3 & 4
BOSTON — Bruins head coach Claude Julien offered this “update” today at TD Garden on defenseman Zdeno Chara, who missed Saturday’s Game 2 against Montreal with dehydration.
“There’s no further update on Zdeno,” said Julien, who gave his team a day off in advance of tomorrow’s Game 3 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinal series with the Canadiens at the Bell Centre. ”
“He’s been in touch with our doctors and our medical staff and he will be traveling with the team. So that’s basically all I’m going to say about that.”
That Chara is going to be in close quarters with his teammates is obviously a positive sign for his availability for Game 3 and beyond.

This is certainly a tough one… here is the scenario I see. Game 2 was an immensely critical game. The bruins absolutely needed to win and carry the series tied 1-1 into Montreal. Losing game 2 and heading back North to the center of hockey was the absolute worst scenario you could ask for. A healthy Hnighty (how the hell do you spell his name!) or a sick Chara. It’s tough to say. Wearing that C means a lot of having him come out for warm ups then sit raises questions for me. Sure he may have been ill, but it’s the playoffs and you dig deep.
Karl, did you see him in warmups? The guy could barely breath skating around in circles and looked like a partially reanimated zombie, so you can hold off on lumping him with anyone.
never thought i’d have to lump z in with jd drew and jay cutler.
Well I hope he is better before tomorrow-or at least well enough to play, because this team doesn’t have a chance if he isn’t in the line-up.
