Star of the Night: Bergeron comes up big to get Bruins back in series

Bergeron/By S. Bradley

The Bruins might’ve forgotten what scoring first felt like, forgotten the taste of playing with the lead, considering they hadn’t scored first or led through two games of their Eastern Conference quarterfinal series with Montreal.

Patrice Bergeron practically willed them to both things last night and then helped Boston hang on for a 4-2 Game 3 win that pulled them back into the series down 2-1 to the Canadiens.

For his efforts with two assists and a plus-3 rating, Bergeron is TheBruinsBlog.net’s Star of the Night.

Honorable mention: Brian Boucher (35-for-37 saves) of Philadelphia; Martin St. Louis (2 goals) Tampa Bay; Tyler Kennedy (GWG 2:43 into 3rd) of Pittsburgh; Ruslan Salei (G 1:57 into the game) and Jimmy Howard (28-for-30 saves) of Detroit.
