LAKE PLACID, N.Y. — Bruins head coach Claude Julien said today that center Chris Kelly has left the team to get re-examined by the team’s doctors.

“He just went back to Boston today to see our doctors just to make sure everything’s OK. We expect him back in Montreal with us tonight,” said the head coach after his team went through more than an hour of drills at the USA Rink at the Whiteface Lake Placid Olympic Center.

“Everything’s all right. According to what we know, it might be a fracture. But it’s nothing that would prevent him from playing.

Kelly was injured when he crashed into the goal post in the first period of Monday night’s Game 3 win in Montreal. However, he finished the game.

If Kelly is unable to play, rookie Tyler Seguin could get his first NHL playoff action when the Bruins face Montreal Friday night in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinal series between the two teams at Bell Centre Thursday night. Seguin practiced on a line with Kelly’s usual linemates Rich Peverley and Michael Ryder today. Jamie Arniel, one of Boston’s “Black Aces,” also skated on that line.
