If we catch the Montreal Canadiens drinking shots of Jack Daniel’s tonight during Game 5 of their Eastern Conference quarterfinal series with the Bruins, then we’ll really have to wonder if they’ve hired former Red Sox first baseman Kevin Millar as a consultant.
But until then, we’ll just have to assume that Habs goaltender Carey Price decided to just borrow Millar’s 2004 rallying cry for purposes of this series. After all, Price has been known to take part in some rodeo activity in the offseason.
Here’s what Price said to the media after practice yesterday, as quoted in the Montreal Gazette:
“(The Bruins) were facing adversity and now it’s our turn. You can pretty well take all the quotes they were saying two games ago. We just have to cowboy up and do it.”
Well, Millar’s recipe for completing the comeback against the New Y0rk Yankees involved shots of whiskey for him and his teammates. I doubt the Habs could get away with that one.
If Montreal suddenly unleashes “Rally Karaoke Guy” then the Bruins might have to start to worry.
