PHILADELPHIA — Flyers head coach Peter Laviolette left no doubt about who his starting goaltender will be tonight against the Bruins in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference semifinal series at the Wells Fargo Center.
Brian Boucher, the Game 1 starter who was pulled in the second period of Boston’s 7-3 win, will get another chance to solve Boston’s offense.
“Brian will go back in net today,” said Laviolette after his team’s morning skate. “Today for me is a game where we all get to go back in there and try and right some wrongs. So everybody gets an opportunity. He deserves it.”
It was already apparent Boucher would start tonight because he took shots at the end of the Wells Fargo Center where the starter traditionally practices at morning skate — thanks to Mike Morreale of NHL.com for that bit of Flyers trivia — and he was the first one off the ice.
Boucher and the Flyers start their search for redemption at 7:30 p.m.
