McQuaid hospitalized

PHILADELPHIA — Bruins defenseman Adam McQuaid was taken to Jefferson Hospital for evaluation during tonight’s second period.
The rookie was injured when he tried to hit Flyers forward Mike Richards in front of the Boston net, missed and crashed headfirst into the end boards. McQuaid was helped off the ice.
Game 2 of the Eastern Conference semifinal series between the Bruins and Flyers was tied at 2 after two periods at the Wells Fargo Center.
He is going to wakeup this morning with one stiff nack.Hope he gets back in shape and on ice ASAP.

All perspective: Canadiens fans Boo national anthem, throw rubber chicken on ice and launch an investigation into an unfortunate hockey play. Comparatively, it must seem like the bruins are in high society.
Give them credit for what is proper etiquette? I think there were a fair amount of boo’s mixed in when he was down…
gotta give philly fans some credit for cheering when he got up. i was surprised.
Not sure he was concussed, from looking at the hit, it seems more like a neck injury. Something to the tune of hyperextension, maybe a sprain. It’s gotta hurt a whole lot, and he won’t play until it’s comfortable, but he should be able to come back during the playoffs. I really hope he does. He was just beginning to use the force really well!

Good to here in Claude’s postgame that McQuaid will make the trip with the team. I know sometimes with concussions they’ll hold people over rather than have them fly right away. Hope he’ll be okay first and then back.
And how about van Riemsdyk? Good thing Thomas was able to hold him off down the stretch despite the two early goals.
For sure McQuaid’s health is a big concern. The D are making some timely plays despite the shot totals. Timmy stole that game. That’s what good goalies can do. Boychuk has been delivering some solid hits. Can you believe a Bruins team can win four overtime games out of nine games played. I’ve gotten to the point where I almost feel calm in sudden death.
I was happy to see Versteeg, Briere and Richards on the ice for the B’s tying and OT Winning goal !
Bojangles I hope you’re right about McQuaid…another big hit on Coburn, this time by Boychuk.
I hope he is okay, although I suspect he may be concussed-and I hate to lose him at this point.

Gut tells me the tough kid will be ok, but precautions were most important. By the way… huge standing O for the D – especially Seidenberg. Chara was wearing down big time…. nice to see Krecji score a scorer’s goal – especially after he rung the post on an empty netter what seemed like a week ago.

Oh… one more thought – Boychuck has got to learn to get that slow-ass shot off. Someday he’s going to cost us a big goal on a break away after a block.
