Star of the Night: Krejci keeps on producing points vs. Flyers
Obviously, Tim Thomas was the first, second and third star last night in the lone Stanley Cup playoff game played.
But I wrote enough about him postgame and didn’t get around to David Krejci, whose game-winning goal made up for his hit post earlier in the game and made sure Thomas’ 52-save performance stood up in the 3-2 Game 2 victory.
For scoring the overtime winner with 6:00 left in the period and staking Boston to a 2-0 series lead, Krejci is the TheBruinsBlog.net Star of the Game.
After registering just one point in the seven-game first-round triumph over Montreal, Krejci has become a monster in the second round. He followed up his four-point Game 1 with the game-winning goal in Game 2. There’s no telling what he has in store for an encore in Game 3 and beyond.
“Well, he is capable of playing the way we have seen him on a daily basis,” said head coach Claude Julien. “I think he has been motivated to play in this series, obviously with what happened to him last year. He seems like a determined player. He has been playing hard and well, and obviously we need that kind of contribution from him and his line. It is nice to see that line be a big part of our success.”
Honorable mention: Tim Thomas (52-for-54) saves of Boston; James van Riemsdyk (2G) of Philadelphia.
Last night’s score
Boston 3, Philadelphia 2
Tonight’s games
Washington at Tampa Bay, 6:30
Vancouver at Nashville, 9

That’s my boy…….way to go!!!! Dr K
Thomas was clearly the first star last night, but Krejci did his part. His shot was a beauty and I thought it kind of stunk that he was deprived the celebration because the ref was clearly looking somewhere else to miss the goal.
Love how Krejci is playing in this series but would love to see Lucic play better.
Seids was a monster last night too.
RF, obviously you didn’t bother to read the post, just the headline.

WHAT? Listen I love how Krejci is performing right now but there is no way you give him the #1 star over TT – that was a performance for the history books – think Pedro out of the bullpen vs. the Indians
Versus reported (cryptically) that Julien was barking at his team last night, especially Lucic. He has played so bad, I had given him the benefit of the doubt and assumed he was nursing an injury, but if Coach Calm is yapping at him, maybe it’s more of a motivational issue? What do you hear, Matt?
Krejci is quickly becoming a Flyer killer. He is dangerous everytime he is on the ice it seems. It is a team game though & were it not for contributions from many others the B’s wouldn’t be leading this series 2-0.
Timmy stole the show last night.
Boychuck was a beast and contributions from all.
Last night was a huge win. Keep it going B’s!!!
