No Recchi, McQuaid for Bruins’ morning skate for Game 3
BOSTON — Mark Recchi took his playoff-usual morning off today at TD Garden, while Adam McQuaid was also missing from the Bruins’ morning skate in preparation for tonight’s Game 3.
If McQuaid, who suffered a sprained neck in Game 2 Monday, can’t play tonight when the Bruins try to extend their lead over Philadelphia in the Eastern Conference semifinal series between the clubs, expect Shane Hnidy to take his spot in the lineup.
Everyone else was on the ice for Boston.
I think Hnidy was the goto guy regardless of Kampfer’s condition. Hnidy will probably see limited action (4-6 mins). Outside of that, I really wish that the B’s would start using Chara in front of the net on the PP. The rest of the guys could fire at will and Boucher would not see a thing.
No, I dont think so. As good as Kampfer is he is still a little green. He made a bunch of mistakes towards the end of the season which prob worried the Mgt team. I think the Bruins grabbed Hnidy for just this reason. He is a known quantity…
He’d use Kampfer. He might like experience, but as long as a player has a spine, he’ll go with the better player.
Seeing as how Julien has made the clear choice to stick with veterans in the playoffs, do you think if Kampfer was healthy he would draw in instead of Hnidy?
