BOSTON — Either the Flyers’ decision to go with Sergei Bobrovsky will work tonight in Game 4 at the TD Garden and the series will extend to a fifth game, or the Bruins will bust out the brooms.
Bruins head coach Claude Julien said before the game that the switch in goal for Philadelphia doesn’t change his team’s approach to Game 4 of its Eastern Conference semifinal series with the Flyers.
“Well I think every team’s prepared for anything right now. When you play the same team in a series, you pre-scout everybody” said Julien, whose team leads the series 3-0. “They do the same thing to us and vice versa here. So, no, it doesn’t really matter to us who they put in net. I think we’re prepared for whatever scenario is thrown at us. Now it’s just a matter of going out there and doing the job and doing it right.”
The goalie switch isn’t the only change for the Flyers, who scratched forward Nikolay Zherdev. Here’s how their lines looked in warm-up:
Versteeg-Richards-Carter
Van Riemsdyk-Giroux-Briere
Hartnell-Powe-Leino
Shelley-Betts-Carcillo
Carle-Mesazaros
Timonen-Coburn
O’Donnell-Syvret
Chris Pronger will miss his third straight game. The Bruins don’t appear to have any changes from their Game 3 lineup:
Lucic-Krejci-Horton
Marchand-Bergeron-Recchi
Kelly-Peverley-Ryder
Paille-Campbell-Thornton
Chara-Seidenberg
Kaberle-Hnidy
Ference-Boychuk
Tim Thomas, of course, is in net.

I think I might have been a little toasted the other night…….
haha you watched the whole series apparently because you had nothing else to watch. typical french canadien prick
No girls allowed Jean.
best 4 in hockey right now
Your right Spencer, I was wrong with what I said. The hi-lite of the series was actually McQuaid trying to hit Richards and missing. The Giroux hit on Bergeron was second on the hi-lite list.
go B’s lets go!!!!!!!!!!!!! we are the best we can win go B’s!!!!!! lets go!
Jean Philippe Tremblay, do you have a life? first off bergeron is a class act who suffers concussion issues so thats a low blow coming from a french-canadien fan of cheap shot artists. secondly, go to your own blog. third, keep practicing the golf swing and start polishing the cup for us. and lastly, first regular season game next year we are going to pound you guys into the ice, even subban wont be able to dive.
lets go, Stanley Cup!
I really believe!! go B’s
Jean…isn’t that a girl’s name?
the bruins are great, go B’s
Or how to spell
there are people who just don’t understand hockey,
Without a doubt, the hi-lite of this game (and really the series) was watching Giroux knock Bergeron out of the game and hopefully out of the playoffs with his big hit. I know that Bruins fans can really appreciate a nice big hit so kutos to Giroux.
Thank you Rickinnh.
I’m starting to wonder if the playoffs are going to awaken the monster within Horton that scouts thought was their when he was picked early way back when……
rick in nh,
You’re right, he’s certainly an improvement over sidenberg at #2, even without the offense he has been +6 in 24 games since arriving in Boston, and was a -2 on a crap toronto team. Plus, at least when kablerle is not producing offensively, he is at least not having an “adventure” right in front of Thomas.
Matt K,
Did Wizards of the Coast contact you to run the adds for New Phyrexia? Honestly something I never though I would see on a hockey blog.
hey Matt, at the risk of irratating alot of people, I would like to stick up for Kaberle because a lot of people don’t seem to understand how defense is played in hockey. the same folks who chased Wideman out of town are cracking down on Kaberle. what these guys don’t get is that a guy like Kaberle
(or Wideman) can move the the puck around like Ray Bourque used to, and although they are not RB, they enable the rest of the B’s D to play their game. I think only morons don’t ge’t that.
There is a lot a BANG in this team right now. That alone may do the trick for’em. I am very big on the Bruins right now.
Keep whipping ass guys and it’s yours. Bourque will be in attendance at city Hall come June, this time around.
