BOSTON — There’ll be no second shot at cheese steaks and Tastykakes for these Bruins.
Unlike last season, Boston put the finishing touches on Philadelphia and made sure there would be no return trip to the City of Brotherly love for this Eastern Conference semifinal series.
Johnny Boychuk’s goal 2:42 into the third period put the Bruins ahead for good and Milan Lucic scored his first two goals of the postseason, as the Bruins pulled away for a 5-1 win in Game 4 of the series to complete a sweep at the TD Garden.
“We really didn’t want to go back to Philly,” said winger Brad Marchand, who scored an empty-net goal in the win. “If they would’ve stolen it tonight and then gone back there [Sunday], anything could happen. That’s not a place you want to go back to. It was nice to win it here in front of our home crowd and let them celebrate with us.”
The Bruins will now face the Tampa Bay Lightning in the Eastern Conference finals starting sometime next week.
Here’s a quick glance at the box score:
•Tim Thomas stopped 22 of 23 shots to earn his fifth straight playoff win.
•Chris Kelly finished the night with a plus-3 rating.
•Nathan Horton assisted on both Lucic goals. David Krejci added one assist.
•Eleven different Bruins recorded a point in the game.

Ok I’m set. Here’s the plan guys:
1. Mosleys places three shots under Pac’s elbows stepping out, he may tag him midair to the head too,
2. Takes him to the corner with (1-2) (1-2-3) combos.
3. Swamps him with smart smart smart punches in bunches delivery, forcing a standin’ step in from the ref. No count at that point anticipated. Leaning against the ropes rules out that one out.
Winner: Mosley TKO early second round and the fans in attendance.
I smell fighthype. Enjoy the bout bros. Who is the ALPHA MALE you think?
Do you anticipate a brawl early on, and if so who instigates?
Who dictates inside? Watch Mosley’s uppercuts when Pac steps back. He may want to let him think he plays YO-YO with him, while Mosley is the one with a butcher’s string ’round his first finger.
And Mosley does’nt have to set those punches.
Pac’s IN n OUT stuff as always been his trade. he is doing it for him for free.
I think this pro PAC 8 for 1 Odd is a bit hefty regardless of the outcome.
Anyone?
How about one gets stunned early, taken in the corner, overwhelmed with punches in bunches forcing a standing step in from the ref.
Both guys at a par on that one.
Both guys are capable of swithching stance though…
Let’s see…. I don’t know how to rate that one up? Anybody?
I am sure OUR guys are together downing a few Sam Adams watching the bout tonite. Enjoying togetherness of a lifetime.
Anyone,
Anytime,
Anyplace.
Bring’em on. We will oblige.
The overhand right and/or the Cuban bomb across shoul’nt be a factor. Both guy’s ring generalship at a par. Stamina will speak loud!
Let’s see…
Anybody????
Where are the »>BRUINS BRAWLERS< that know their trade on the canvas.
MARIO ROBERGE HAS ALWAYS BEEN BIG IN MY HEART GROWING UP AND NOWADAYS STILL. REMEMBER OILIE DAVE BROWN…. AND THE NEXT HE WAS IN DETROIT IN FRONT OF …..
WHATTAGUY ROBERGE WAS.
Look for Pac throwing lots of body punches early. Mosley’s left temple is exposed when he fights a southpaw.
Anybody???
Oups! Hookish uppercuts is what I meant to bring about bros and sis, sorry for the misspelleeeening!!!
Bruins all the way!!!!
Both guys looked real good at the weigh-in. Mosley isnt dry…
Let’s see…
When Pac steps back from a clash or toe to toe brawl, both his elbows raise. Mosley is a killer at the ribs with his uppercuttish hooks that he throws so well with both hands.
Let’ see….???
Mosley looses his legs by the sixth, and kisses the canvas early eight.
Enjoy the show. take a day off hockey.
At first I thought, too many changes, too late. I liked the trades other Wheeler’s.
But man look at these guys go. They’re the real thing. They are the ones that BANGS TOGETHER THE MOST in the NHL right now. The rest is not written up yet but, let see…..
Bernard, you have a great point. It’s been a long time since I’ve felt that the camaraderie on a Bruins team has been where it should be; this year, the team seems tighter than ever. They showed spine, which they evidently lacked last year. Something is definitely different in the dressing room. I love it.
Dressing room wins Championships. This team has a dressing room that BANGS. I am a 52 years old male habs fan. I played 13 years of competitive hockey. I have won championships. (I don’t like braggers either BTW.)
I have seen it done more than once. THIS DRESSING ROOM BANGS. I REPEAT THIS DRESSING ROOM BANGS.
Breaking news: Lake Placid Olympic rink rental cost for next April are skyrocketting as we speak. But it really comes from the DRESSING ROOM guys.
bergeron scratched. Up winger Caron, swing guys around no probs, no bs either.
I have said it thanks. Charles river is starting to smell Sam Adams. Bourque in attendance in fornt of city Hall come June
JPT… do you have anything better to do besides troll on Bruins sites 2 weeks after your Habs got knocked out of the playoffs? Watch the video- Giroux takes three strides towards Bergeron and hits him after more than .5 seconds have passed (that’s the NHL’s rule of thumb).
Also, how do the Bruins play “dirty”? Did you mean “physically”? Because that’s how you win in the playoffs. Don’t hate on us because the B’s are still in it. Pierre Gauthier sat around with his thumb in his butt and didn’t execute meaningful acquisitions for your franchise this season. Cry about it.
Oh, and Montreal had more minor penalties than the B’s in the regular season as well… i.e. slashes, hooks, trips, high sticking, boarding, charging, unsportsmanlike conduct. And I bet only 50% of the offenses were actually caught by the refs. So if you want to talk about “dirty”, look a little closer to home.
The Flyers played like Jean rides her inflatable dildo.
The hit on Bergeron was clean so if he is not OK it is his own fault. He shouldn’t have been admiring his pass so much. Plus, I doubt anyone is going to feel any sympathy for an injured Bruin because of the dirty way they play (especially Chara).
Great game. Had the feeling that when we werent putting in the easy chances (Pevs) we might be in trouble. that feeling went away when looch buried that 5 hole. Hope to hell that Bergy is OK. Hope Detroit and Nashville can prolong their series to help out…
I really hope Bergeron is OK. Is it me or did the Flyers not play like it was an elimination game?
