BOSTON — If you’re no longer shell shocked, then you’re ready to celebrate the Bruins’ four-game sweep of Philadelphia that they finished tonight to earn a conference finals trip for the first time in 19 years.
The last time Boston made it this far in the Stanley Cup playoffs, Cam Neely and Ray Bourque were still pulling on the sweater instead of business suits.
As the TD Garden rocked late in the third period of the 5-1 Game 4 win over the Flyers, the chant of “We Want Tampa” carried down from the seat to the rink. It’ll be a Boston-Tampa Bay showdown with a trip to the Cup final on the line.
A lot of fans have waited a long time for this, as have a lot of players. Here’s what the scene looked like once the victory was in the bag, courtesy of Sharon Bradley Photography.
