BOSTON — Several media members spotted Patrice Bergeron hanging around the TD Garden today as his teammates took the ice for practice.
After the on-ice session, head coach Claude Julien acknowledged the visit by the veteran center, who is currently out with a mild concussion suffered last Friday in Game 4 of the Philadelphia series.
Bergeron is still expected to miss the start of the Eastern Conference Final series that begins Saturday.
“[He's] doing better. He’s here, he’s doing better,” said Julien. “So again, he’s dealing with the concussion symptoms and everything else, the protocol of it. And he’s here today because he’s feeling better. And if anything, yeah we’re getting some positive feedback from him.”

I know Patrice is only 25 but his age doesn’t matter. He’s had three concussions and if I’m running the show this is his last one.
Bergy says thank you to his helmet. When he got hit by Seidenberg in the Canes game two years ago you could tell Patrice wasn’t coming back for awhile. This hit didn’t look good but not as bad as the hit two years ago.
My fingers crossed that he returns to health quickly. I would love to see him come back, but only if he is 100% healthy.
I don’t think he would have a chance of returning until game 3 but my gut tells me he likely won’t be back for this series but my fingers are crossed that he returns to health and can play. He has been a play off warrior and the team will miss him.
Didn’t know they are set for Saturday. Good, I’m not a Detroit fan!
good luck PB
No way….. No wait. Not now…. Not this early bro. Pat, really, there is no need to rush. We all know that you’re a warrior without enemies to fight with. But, you know, enjoy baseball may be…. The DRESSING ROOM will take care of stuff no b.s. bro.
Be extra extra family orientated in your decision bro.
That is certainly encouraging. Hope he makes it back and I hope he is effective when he does
Kev, it’s starting saturday either way. That means I’m rooting for SJ to take out the biggest threat to a Eastern conference team in the finals.
Let’s hope he’s ready for Tuesday!
back for game 2 with a hero’s welcome.
I was hoping for some good news like this. And will root for Detroit tonight for an extra couple of days healing time.
Let’s hope the team plays so well there’s no hurry to get him in the lineup.
What Fage said…
this makes me feel optimistic, but i dont want to get ahead of myself…. 3rd concussion. We need him though…
