BOSTON — While the Eastern Conference Final series with Tampa Bay is still four days away from starting, today’s practice was important because rookie Steven Kampfer joined the fray.
It was Kampfer’s first time on the ice with his teammates since he suffered a knee injury April 9 while skating for the Providence (AHL) farm club.
“It’s a good feeling getting back on the ice a little bit. We’re still in the process of building everything up, so it’s going forward pretty smoothly right now,” said Kampfer after the practice at the TD Garden.
Kampfer said he did more starts and stops than in prior on-ice sessions. He came through the session fine and expects to keep improving as the opener of the Tampa Bay series gets near.
“It’s the little things that you add every day that are getting things going,” he said.
Karl, aren’t there enough similarities between him and Hunwick already? ;-D
I like Kampfer and think he has great future potential. He actually did some great things this year although towards the end his rookie really showed through.

yep, but I did I like Wheeler.. I guess i am missing a part on his lifestyle or something. This guy looked to me as MAX PAX type of guy…….
I agree PCL and Kampfer is still learning too boot lots of upside. McQuaid, Kampfer and Boychuk all picked up by Chiarelli under the radar for low round draft picks Good scouting!

IMO, this kid’s a big part of this teams future. I hope that this isn’t the start of a chronic issue.
