BOSTON — The Bruins returned to practice for a second straight day today, this time at the TD Garden.
Only Zdeno Chara was among the healthy players not present.
Head coach Claude Julien that Chara was granted a day of rest because “you don’t have to worry about him being out of shape.”
Tomorrow will be a day off now that Boston knows its Eastern Conference Final series with Tampa Bay doesn’t start until Saturday evening. The Bruins don’t want to skate themselves to death before the next series.
The Patrice Bergeron-less lines stayed the same. Steven Kampfer joined his teammates for the first time since he started skating in his return from an April 9 knee injury.
Chris Kelly, who had been wearing a cage since suffering a facial injury in Game 3 of the Montreal series, switched to a clear shield.
