BOSTON — If you can believe it, the Bruins-Tampa Bay Eastern Conference Final is just one day away.
The Bruins put their disbelief on hold and hit the TD Garden ice for one last pre-series practice.
There was less battling and more rushes in this session than yesterday, as head coach Claude Julien explained.
“Yesterday we did a lot of grinding and battling, and that kind of stuff that we’re going to need to do in this series. Today was a little bit more about flow and speed and we’ve been trying to keep our guys as sharp as we can,” said the coach. “Part of that is us making sure we prepare the practices accordingly. And the other share of it belongs to [the players]. They have to be mentally ready to do those kind of things and execute well. And I think the guys have been good at that and they’ve done a good job.”
Every player except Patrice Bergeron was on the ice. Zdeno Chara got in one last final tune-up. After practice, he said it definitely doesn’t feel as though the Bruins are riding a five-game winning streak.
“We have to reset. We can’t be thriving on things that we did in the first or second round,” said the captain. “This is a different round, a different opponent.”
