BOSTON — Eyewitnesses were hard to come by, but sources confirmed that Bruins center Patrice Bergeron skated on his own this morning a while before Boston held its morning skate at the TD Garden.
It was Bergeron’s first activity since he suffered a “mild” concussion a week ago Friday in the series-clinching win over Philadelphia.
During his media briefing, head coach Claude Julien confirmed that Bergeron took the ice.
“I don’t know. This is something that’s just protocol, he’s going through the normal stuff, and today was a light skate on his own,” said Julien when asked how Bergeron is feeling. “He just got off the ice and we went on. So, I don’t think there’s much more, guys, that we can give you. I said the same thing yesterday, it can go either way. So, we’re certainly not going to comment on that kind of stuff, and just hope that he keeps getting better.”
Bergeron is expected to miss at least the first couple games of Boston’s Eastern Conference Final, which starts tonight against Tampa Bay at the Garden.

Although he has been our best player on the ice, i’d rather see Bergie next fall, we are talking about a terrific young man — i’d hate to see what happen to Savard happen to him- there is plenty of hockey left in his career and he has to think long term
Hell yeah!
Also Matt K,
Love the irony in your Bergeron pictures: when Bergeron is off the ice, you show a picture of him skating, when he’s skating, you show a picture of him standing still.
Great news! So glad he’s already to the point where he can actually skate. With a setback or two, we should see him game 6 or in the finals! Slow and steady Bergey!
hoping for game #5. anything early is gravy.
Great news
Take it slow Bergy this series will not be a sprint but a marathon.
Best news of the day! 8pm can not come fast enough.
