Plenty of sleep for Seguin before he slips into Bruins’ lineup
BOSTON — It might be hard to believe, but rookie Tyler Seguin said this morning he slept fine last night.
And he doesn’t expect his game-day nap to be affected by his excitement either.
However, there’s definitely a giant burst of energy ready to explode out of the rookie as he gets ready to skate in his first Stanley Cup playoff game tonight in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Final at the TD Garden against Tampa Bay.
“I guess a little bit. I think I’m used to it,” said Seguin today after the Bruins’ morning skate about having to control his emotions. “I’ve never been to a conference finals, but I’ve been in big games before. Obviously not at this level, but I’ve been here before and I’ve just got to stay focused, stay confident and not worry about making mistakes. And hopefully things will work out.”
Patrice Bergeron’s absence with a concussion has opened the way for Seguin, who was a healthy scratch for the Bruins’ first 11 postseason games, to get a shot at playoff hockey at the game’s highest level. As far as outward appearances go, Seguin seemed to be taking things in stride this morning. He explained how he’s a pretty laid-back guy, and there’s no way to disagree with that based on how the 19-year-old looked or spoke in the dressing room.
“I’ve been saying it all week that I’m pretty excited to get started,” he said. “And now the day’s finally here, I’m just focusing on what I’ve got to do to prepare to get ready for tonight.”

paul Matt writes whatever is the general opinion of media.(no original thoughts).Seguin should of been out from the start.Peverly,Kelly ,caberle, think about those trades.Kelly was a ghost all year one good series and this town is ready to build a statue next to bobby.
plus he figured in on the two goals that the Bruins got
Matt I really feel this way. Did you watch the game? He even had a good hit.
Is this a real comment or someone yanking my chain?

Julien should be fired based on how he has handled his best offensive player, Seguin. Seguin is doing the most on the Bruins with little ice time. Get a coach that can develop players like Seguin. Julien is stubborn.
Skate hard little, dude. Hound everyone in white ’til you get 5 take-aways tonight. If you skate hard and run those bastards down, you’re skill will take care of the rest.
Marchand was quoted saying some great things in the Globe. I’ve been waiting for guys on the team to say he’s good. I’m still skeptical – not to the Hungus level yet, but I’m waiting to see that je ne sais pas.
Definately adds another layer of excitement.
Go Big Bears!
Ironically, this could be the best situation all year for the kid. He’s finally on a line that highlights speed and skill, and Julien seems to want him to go out and produce and not worry about the x’s and o’s too much. Could be interesting.
Keep your head on a swivel, kid. This is the fight for the cup.
Good advice karl? How about use your speed and skill>Hope he doesnt go out and make people like karl happy and just play physical to prove a point.i hope he gets the ice time to be an offensive player and make a difference.
prove this segzy hater wrong, kid. not too late to meet some expectations this year. be brave in the dirty areas and be physical.
