BOSTON — There was no denying Patrice Bergeron’s presence on the TD Garden ice this morning as the Bruins prepared for Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Final with Tampa Bay.
But Milan Lucic’s whereabouts were a little harder to pin down.
Lucic, who took a Tyler Seguin shot off the foot yesterday in practice, did not skate. After the skate, head coach Claude Julien said of Lucic “there’s no issues there at all.”
As Lucic left the Garden today, however, he was featuring a noticeable limp that made him move more awkwardly than his usual Mr. Snuffleupagus shuffle.
On Bergeron, Julien left the door open for a possible return to action in Game 2. Concussed on May 6, Bergeron started skating on Saturday and, as far as anyone knows, hasn’t taken contact yet.
“As far as Bergeron was concerned, I think if he’s in you’ll see him in the warm-up tonight,” said Julien.
When asked if not revealing Bergeron’s status was a strategic advantage, Julien offered “no comment.” So to translate, yes he thinks it’s a tactical advantage. Lightning head coach Guy Boucher, however, said his team is still prepared to play the Bruins with all their star players in the lineup.
Other than usual morning skate missing person Mark Recchi, the rest of the Bruins skated. They did not do any line rushes.

Good point, Kid C.
The pp couldn’t be any crapier, so you may as well play him on the second rotation.
We have nothing to lose at this point. CJ with his “spoon feed” approach should be thrown out the window.
I had better not hear about a foot injury as some excuse for being useless again
Seguin should be on the ice regardless tonight. He was the best Bruins player last game. Use him on the PP already Julian, what’s going to happen, it’ll get worse?
haha nice one nifty.
“Tyler’s plan almost worked. Take out a forward in practice and you’re in. Genius.” HAHAHAHAHA
Go B’s
I assume he didn’t skate so they can freeze it tonight or at least get the swelling under control. Sounds like a good bruise. Tyler’s plan almost worked. Take out a forward in practice and you’re in. Genius.
