Lucic in, Bergeron out for Bruins in Game 2 against Lightning
BOSTON — This morning, Patrice Bergeron was on the ice and Milan Lucic wasn’t.
Tonight for the warm-up before Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Final, the roles were reversed.
Lucic took his spot in the warm-ups, but Bergeron did not go on the TD Garden ice. The Bruins, who trail the series to Tampa Bay, 1-0, will be without their concussed alternate captain for a second straight game.
Here’s how the Bruins skated in line drills tonight:
Lucic-Krejci-Horton
Marchand-Peverley-Recchi
Ryder-Kelly-Seguin
Paille-Campbell-Thornton
Chara-Seidenberg
Kaberle-McQuaid
Ference-Boychuk
And here are the Lightning lines and D pairs:
Gagne-Lecavalier-Purcell
Malone-Stamkos-St. Louis
Bergenheim-Moore-Downie
Thompson-Hall
Ohlund-Brewer
Hedman-Clark
Lundin-Bergeron
R. Jones
Amazing that that dolt Julien still only played him for 13 mins
Quite the contrary. Seguinistas Rule. Embrace it!
MK
Proud to be a Seguinista
not sure what i’m more proud of…..Matt Kalman trying to use sarcasm to get by his shameful night or him blocking me on twitter. either way. the “independent bruins blog” proves that literally any bruins fan could do this for a living.
I’m pleased that the Bruins were able to win and Bergeron did not have to play. Concussions are really tricky and Bergeron has a bad history. Bergeron means a great deal to the Bruins in the years to come so I hope they don’t risk Bergeron’s future by playing him before he’s ready.
Rich no we can’t.
Seguin had thirteen minutes of ice time. Not enough. He scored two goals and had two assists and was a plus 3 for the game. Thats the most points and the best plus minus for the game. He should be getting 20 minutes of ice time if the Bruins want the cup.
Can we now have an end to calling those making the now-obvious point that Tyler Seguin needs to get more minutes “Seguinistas.”
I like Peverly on line 2 better. I read that Savard might be at the game tonight, hopefully he’s getting better.
