TAMPA — With the return of Patrice Bergeron, the Bruins are finally whole up front again.
And with Tim Thomas back to his old goal-denying ways, there just might not be any way to stop Boston.
The Bruins took a 2-1 series lead in the Eastern Conference Final tonight by shutting out Tampa Bay, 2-0, behind 31 saves by Thomas at the St. Pete Times Forum.
Game 4 is Saturday afternoon at the same venue.
Here’s a quick glance at the box score:
•David Krejci got the Bruins on the board first for the first time in the series with a goal just 1:09 into the game. Andrew Ference added the insurance goal with 8:12 elapsed in the third period.
•If Bergeron was feeling any effects from his concussion of two weeks ago, he didn’t show them. He finished the night with two shots on net and 64-percent proficiency (18-for-28) at the faceoff dot in his first game since May 6.
•Zdeno Chara led the Bruins with four of the team’s 19 hits. He was also second to D partner Dennis Seidenberg with 28:27 of ice time. Seidenberg skated three more seconds.
•The Lightning’s Brett Clark was charged with six giveaways in just 13:42 of ice time. That’s almost impossible.

BEAST MODE engaged. 8-4 since game 2′s extended maxine nightingale organ play.
Kevin’s right, Seidenberg has been a beast all playoffs and he probably doesn’t get as much respect as he deserves. He’s been very aggressive to challenge for the puck on the forecheck without making any big mistakes, and his shot is a monster. We have a great core of D players: Z, Seids, Ference (prob my favorite, “big” little hockey player like me), and McQuaid too.
I wrote this team off after MTL game 2. Wow am I happy to be proven wrong by these guys.
The best game by far in the playoffs by the Bruins .Charra and Sidenburg were outstanding everyone played well
nd sidenbery were all world in this one
Great BRUINS game History will be made…love the new video and Seguin is doing his part.
GO BRUINS GO!!! ALL OF EM.
Great game. It’s amazing how good this team can be once they figure out the other team and then relize if they play there game it’s curtains for the opponets.
I enjoyed the way CJ had the B’s break the Bolt’s 2-2-1 and the 1-3-1 neutral zone defense.
Boucher and crew was schooled by the B’s coaching staff in this B’s ‘W’. Terrific defensive effort by the B’s, their patience and composure with the puck paid off.
It’s back to the drawing board for the Bolts now that Bergy is back in FO form.
