TAMPA — Bruins center David Krejci was on the receiving end of a crushing blow by Tampa Bay’s Marc-Andre Bergeron last night in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Final.
He finished Boston’s 2-0 win after taking a couple shifts off, but was among five Boston regulars that did not take part in the optional skate today at the St. Pete Times Forum.
With the Bruins up in the series, 2-1, Game 4 is tomorrow.
Head coach Claude Julien said there were no injury reasons for Krejci’s absence.
“David is fine. We had a bunch of guys take off today,” said Julien. “It’s more of an optional, a short skate. So there’s no issues with David. He’s playing tomorrow with no issues at all.”
The other missing Bruins were Dennis Seidenberg, Zdeno Chara, Tim Thomas and Mark Recchi.
Patrice Bergeron, who just returned from a concussion, and Milan Lucic, who’s nursing a lower-body injury, both took part in the 25-minute on-ice session. Bergeron then hit the bike for a several minutes.
