The playoff roller coaster continued this week for the Bruins, who bounced back from their Game 1 loss last week to take two out of three from Tampa Bay and return to Boston with the Eastern Conference Final deadlocked at two games apiece.
There were plenty of performances worthy of Bruin of the Week honors along the way.
Oddly enough, Tim Thomas’ best game in net might’ve been the one he won while allowing five goals. He also pitched a shutout for a second victory, although he struggled in Game 4 and committed a turnover that led to a Tampa Bay goal. His save percentage of the week was .917.
Tyler Seguin staged his breakout performance in Game 2 with two goals, two assists and a plus-3 rating. He hasn’t scored since, but he was active on one of Boston’s Game 3 goals and he finished the three-game week with a plus-2 rating and nine shots on net.
A two-week layoff didn’t slow down Patrice Bergeron, who only played two games last week but managed to score two goals and a plus-1 rating with six shots on net. He also won 29 of 48 faceoffs (60.4 percent).
Michael Ryder continued his postseason resurgence with three goals and two points in the three games. He was a plus-2 with six shots on goal. He scored what proved to be the game-winning goal in Game 2.
