Lightning’s Boucher hopes for fairness from ref Furlatt
TAMPA — It seems like the rivalry between the Tampa Bay Lightning and referee Eric Furlatt will continue tonight in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Final at the St. Pete Times Forum against the Bruins.
And Lightning head coach Guy Boucher isn’t afraid to throw some fuel on the fire.
When asked about “one particular” referee for tonight’s game, Boucher acknowledged that one of the two on the sheet for tonight has a record that could be classified as biased against his team.
“[It's] 24-9 against, right?” said Boucher about the penalties Furlatt has called the last four times he’s worked Lightning games. “Yes, I’m aware of it. Very aware of it. Very, very aware of it. It has been a part of our discussions quite a few times in the last game, the last games we did have that particular ref. And it is lopsided.
“But the only thing we can control is what we do on the ice and hope that things will be fair like it is with everybody else.”
Tonight’s other referee is Kelly Sutherland. Maybe he’ll be more sympathetic to Boucher’s team.

Scarface must have liked the PP today…sickening that a team can win a game by having 3 PP goals. Hopefully the B’s stay out of the box in Game 7. Vancouver’s PP is even better than T Bay’s….better hope the B’s learn how to kill the PP.
Chara’s hit on Pacioretty was brutal. Weeks have gone by and you’re still bringing it up like some schoolyard twit. Then when I call you on it, you’re all buddy buddy.
Boucher’s setting the tone for the game. Complain about the reffing before a match is a common practice that usually gets Colon Campbell to temporarily forget that his favorite son plays for the Bruins. Seriously, how bush league is it for the league to not be able to replace that guy while his son plays in the NHL?
What a clown. Next thing he’ll be talking about Chara’s hit on Paciaretty.
…and ???
GO BRUINS GO!!! ALL OF EM.
After the calls he got in Game 5, he should keep his mouth shut.
‘La Chiffre’ Boucher needs to leave all the whining to people in the press box and in front of the television. You’re an NHL head coach. Grow up.
matt, can you please get eric furlatt’s paypal address for us. sutherland is no friend of the b’s so they cancel each other out.
Waaaaaa! The ref’s are unfair!! Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!
What a tool. You want to see unfair? Go look at the penalties called against the B’s during the Montreal series.
Why would it matter? Bruins can’t score on the pp anyway…
