A clown move by Horton.

It’s one thing for Nathan Horton to think the closing seconds of every Bruins loss are open season for him to toss his gloved fists in an opponents’ face as he has now done at least twice in the Eastern Conference Final and another couple times throughout the regular season and playoffs.

But now the Boston forward is getting the fans involved, and that’s just unacceptable.

Mike Corcoran of 1040 ESPN Tampa today unearthed video of Horton’s exit from the ice after the Bruins lost Game 6 in Tampa last night. If you fast forward to the 1:30 mark, you’ll clearly see Horton squirt a fan with water and then throw the bottle into the stands.

So far, there has been no supplemental discipline against Horton. But this story is only slowly developing as more and more people pick up the video via YouTube and Twitter.

Horton has struggled all playoffs with his temper and spent an inordinate amount of time in the penalty box during Boston’s playoff run. But all of his previously boneheaded actions have been against players on the ice. It’ll be interesting to see how the NHL deals with this matter — if at all — because the league obviously can’t condone any interaction of this type between players and fans.

The Bruins host Game 7 tomorrow night at the TD Garden.
