Report: No suspension for Bruins Horton in water squirt incident
According to Damien Cristodero of the St. Petersburgh Times, NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly has confirmed there will be no suspension for Bruins forward Nathan Horton for his water-squirting incident after Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Final.
Hey GR90, Tampa might be an expansion team but they’ve actually won a cup in 2004. How far back for Boston?
I agree that the fans are to blame for the incident but I’m sure Jeremy Jacobs picked up the phone and called his midget commissioner on this one…
Hey cantbeattampa, tell me about how the game has changed since the allowance of the 2 line pass? Also do you think that the 1-3-1 can be potentially dangerous if not enough attention is payed to the Bruins during line changes. Also the trapezoid behind the goals, which NHL goalie do you think this effects the most?……Crickets….and tumbleweeds…..thats what I thought
Where is Tampa anyway? Is that part of Cuba?
I was at the game as well, and I can say that the Tampa fans were cheering every time they got the puck. They were also complaining there weren’t penalties every time we hit one of their players as well. I wonder why.
Clemens & GR90: Actually, Game Six wasnt as loud as most games at the SPTF. Players know it’s one of the louder buildings in the NHL. Those noisemakers were ridiculous, and “bang sticks” are worse. Come to think of it, most give-a-ways end up in the trash…
Hey “cant beat tampa” I bet you won’t come on here and talk crap after the B’s win tonight… you should though! I would like to see your argument on why tampa should of won and how the bruins stole it from you. Talk to you tomorrow!
Good luck tonight B’s. So dissapointed we didnt have the heart to meet you guys in the ECF. I got plenty of family in Mass, and your fans deserve this more then Tampa. Bear down!
What a bunch of clowns Tampa fans are… the Lightning should be a Canadian franchise. They are so well run, but there’s no way to respect an expansion team from Florida when their fan base is obnoxious. To the Tampa guy on here- your team has been around for 15 years. You’re a few ahead of the Thrashers, but don’t try to put on the big-boy pants and disrespect fans who have been through decades of highs and lows with the Bruins. I’m not saying you aren’t entitled to your passion, because we should universally love the game and love the emotion it brings- rather, I’m saying you have zero right to be an ass.
They give out those stupid noisemakers because TB fans don’t make enough noise without them. They don’t even cheer until the jumbotron tells them to. Such pathetic fans, and a-holes too, shaking those stupid things in my ear when I’m trying to leave the game peacefully. Real classy Tampa.
So that is what those things were. “Noise-maker Night” in Tampa (or anywhere). Good thinking. The only thing worse in my memory was “Bat Day” on a hot Saturday afternoon in August in the Bronx.
@cantbeatmontrealsouth
You’re a clown. Show me one example of Horton diving. Please. No, I’m waiting. You could have made the “acts like an a-hole and punches guys” argument. But not diving. Next time Horton takes a stick to the back of his helmet and grabs his face to try to get a penalty, gimme a call. Really proving Tampa to have good hockey fans though, you three should be proud.
There definitely should not be a discipline for Horton. The guy was clearly being obnoxious and the fans were throwing the noise makers at the Bruins players.
I think fan gifts should be things that aren’t hard or plastic. Towels, t-shirts etc. We got canvas shopping bags at a game we went to (interestly enough it was lightning game). While pelting those things on players IMO is dumb, at least they aren’t hard.
I am not sure there is a way to stop this kind of stuff though-short of fining teams whose fans do this stuff at the end of a game, but not sure the fans-especially the drunk ones would care if the organization got a fine for idiotic behavior.
How juvenile. That and his diving serve Horton well. We all know that Boston chokes in Game 7′s and they will again tomorrow night.
Have fun watching the Lightning/Vancouver series
Certainly a minor faux pas on Horton’s part. No players went into the stands and no harm done. I’d bet the fan got a kick out of the squirt. Some Bolts players were hit with those game souvenirs, as well as, Krejci and other B’s. Maybe certain fan game souvenirs should be given on exiting or not at all in the future?
Good riddance. Looked like that fan had a collection of about 3 or 4 of those noisemakers, presumably just for chucking at players. Whoever decided hard plastic noisemakers were a good idea to give to 20k drunk people who have never seen a hockey game before is an idiot.
