Loading ...Seidenberg indeed deserved that honor for his efforts in his own zone, blocking shots and playing the body while averaging more than 28 minutes of ice time a night. It’s that type of play throughout the postseason that had made the veteran blueliner a dark-horse candidate for the Conn Smythe Trophy as the Bruins inch closer to an NHL championship.
While Zdeno Chara is and always will be the Bruins’ No. 1 defenseman, and is usually the one that makes his partner better, you can make the argument that Seidenberg has been making Chara better. You can definitely say that a healthy, active Seidenberg has made the Bruins as a team better from last season and even from the regular season, especially last week.

I questioned PC going after Seids. I wasn’t sold on his mobility. What I didn’t know was that the guy will pay the price to make the play. His mobility is better than I thought and his toughness and strength are evident. In a nut shell I was wrong. Congrats to Seids on his PoW.
Wait – I thought hockey was all about scoring – Man I miss the shootouts in playoff hockey.

I think he works well with Chara and they make an excellent shut down pair-of course while Canuck fans don’t think Seids is any good-fans of the B’s know how good he has been. He has played outstanding this play offs-and I think the man will step in front of any shots and in this series we will probably need that willingness to step in front of shots from him and the rest of the team.
