“and I think he was strictly just used as a penalty-killer for the first two games,” said Thornton.
One of the problems of Games 1 and 2 was that the B’s did not have a real energy line. Ryder and Seguin, the third line, have speed but no physical game. Boston was relying on the first two lines for offense and everything else. Playing against a hard nosed, hit everything that moves, fourth line keeps Vancouver looking over their shoulder and from getting comfortable. I hope Claude continues the to play the Merlot line.
I think adding Thornton to the mix definitely was a good move-I think it would have been a good move even without the Horton catastrophe. Thornton came out hard and I think perhaps it can be argued that Thornton, Campbell and Paille feed off each other as they play. It is definitely a strong energy line.
I also think Campbell and Paille are awesome PKers. When they are clicking they can make the other team’s PP look almost as bad as the Bruin’s and in some cases worse.
When Gregory has a burr under his saddle. Soups on.
i want to see the soup line destroy lapeequeer and torres tonight.
The Bud Abbott line fits for me. Your a funny guy Matt.

Glad to see Soupy get some more time and step it up 5 on 5. When those 3 are clicking it’s a great 4th line.
