VANCOUVER — Canucks head coach Alain Vigneault is willing to have sportswriters put their money at risk.
The bench boss was asked if Roberto Luongo, who allowed 12 goals in two games to the Bruins in Game 3 and 4 of the Stanley Cup Final, which is now tied 2-2, would be his Game 5 starter tonight at Rogers Arena.
“You can bet on that, yep,” he said yesterday.
Vigneault went out of his way to spread the blame out throughout his team rather than focus it all on his Vezina Trophy finalist.
“This is not a one-man affair here,” said the coach. “We all know that our whole group can play better, and, you know, will play better in the two games. In Boston I liked the way we started the game. For some reason, in the second period they’ve been able to, you know, come at us and capitalize on some of our mistakes.
“We’re excited about the opportunity that’s in front of us. Geez, we are one of the last two teams playing for the Stanley Cup Final, playing with home ice advantage in this great city with these great fans, doesn’t get much better than this.”

High glove side and crash the net. Luongo has been bobbling pucks glove side all series.
Greasy Lou was solid in net in the first 2 games & won both. He goes to Boston, where I don’t think he has played & familiar with the atmosphere or rink & loses.
Goalies need comfort at times & I think people are throwing Lou under the bus too eary.
Maybe the team should of supported him with better play.
Lou is great at home. Be careful.

YES! I think Schneider is better in a situation like this, and might be better in general. Really happy to see the headcase back in net. Two more fails!
